Timeline

Table of Contents

Overview

The timeline sits at the bottom of the Editor and is where you sequence, trim, and arrange all your edits. It is split into three types — switch between them using the tabs at the top left.

Timeline Tabs

Tab Purpose
Media Shows your recorded footage as a single track. Use this to set start and end trims quickly.
Layouts Shows layout segments across the duration of the video. Switch or adjust layouts at any point in time.
Zoom Effects Shows zoom effect blocks you have added. Add, move, or resize zoom events here.

Each tab has its own set of controls and blocks in the track area below. The selected tab is highlighted.


Playback Controls

In the center of the timeline header:

  • Play / Pause — starts or stops video playback. The playhead moves along the ruler in sync.
  • Timestamp — shows the current playhead position and total video duration (for example, 00:00:00.0 / 00:00:25.5).

Timeline Controls

On the right side of the timeline header:

Control Action
Undo (↺) Step back through edit history
Redo (↻) Step forward through edit history
+ Zoom in on the timeline for more precision
Zoom out on the timeline to see more of the video
Fit (><) Fit the entire recording into the visible timeline width
Snap Toggle snap-to-grid — aligns blocks to the nearest marker when dragging

  • Scroll horizontally to move left or right along the timeline and see different parts of the recording.
  • Use Zoom In / Zoom Out (+ / −) or the Fit button to control how much of the timeline is visible at once.
  • Click anywhere on the ruler to jump the playhead to that point in the video.
